Data converters made compatible with FPGAs

NXP Semiconductors has announced that its CGV series of JESD204A-compliant data converters are now interoperable with FPGA manufacturers Altera and Xilinx.
CGV (Convertisseur Grande Vitesse) designates NXP's compliant, superset implementation of the Jedec JESD204A interface standard, with enhanced rate (4.0Gbit/s typical), extended reach (100cm typical), extra features (multiple DAC synchronisation) and assured FPGA interoperability.
The data converters are now interoperable with Altera’s Stratix IV GX and Arria II GX FPGA families and with Xilinx’s Virtex-6 and Spartan-6 FPGAs.
The converters are suitable for cellular basestations and other wireless communications infrastructure equipment, as well as medical, instrumentation, military and aerospace applications.
"NXP Semiconductors is pleased to extend this assured interoperability to our CGV customers,” said Maury Wood, NXP’s senior director and product line manager for high speed converters.
